The eight annual Musiikkia! Ruovesi Chamber Music Festival takes an significant early start on Saturday, 8th June, with a full-size symphony concert – first in the history of Sofia Magdalena church of Ruovesi. Lahti Symphoy Orchestra playes music of Sibelius with the lead of Principal Conductor Okko Kamu and Marjukka Tepponen as the soloist. Our Musical feast continues 26th-30th June, in its traditioal timing of week after Midsummer. The artistic director of the festival is conductor-violinist Okko Kamu.
Festival programme includes Bach, Russian masters of music and cello music among others.The concerts take place both in the traditional small picturesque Murole Church, in the Pekkala Manor former stable, and in Sofia Magdalena Church, famous for its excellent acoustics as well as the new venues of the old wooden churches of Virrat and Kuru. The high-quality performers, atmospheric venues and diverse programme guarantee visitors unique musical experiences also this summer!
